The Reflection

Principles of critical thinking definitely enlighten the science realm. However, the Critical Analytical paradigm fails to touch base with the emotional and personal aspects of one’s beliefs. This particular principle works great for scientific, factual evidence, but it cannot be connected with the deepness of morals and beliefs. It is important to be very skeptical of evidence, but in the fruitful reality of this world, it is absolutely true that the principle of critical thinking fails to reach out to the social-emotional sphere of thinking. It certainly is important to know the “facts” behind human sexuality, but, like Alfred Kinsey has made clear, many people experience a variety of feelings when it comes to human sexuality. With Alfred Kinsey’s discoveries on human sexuality, I feel that the critical principle should not be based solely around science. In fact, I would go to say that all principles, and theories should also address the emotional realm of a person.

Alfred Kinsey has a very interesting view on sexual normalcy. Strictly speaking, Kinsley believes that sexual intercourse is completely natural between humans. He notes that it is normal for human beings to explore, whether it be oral sex or kissing. Kinsley uses a metaphor which he believes encompasses the human race as a whole. Human sexuality, in Kinsley’s eyes, is comparable to a populace of gull wasps. Gull wasps have unlimited quantities of variation within the specific species. With the notion of variation, gull wasps lay almost on the same ground as human beings sexually, in that every child is reproduced with different genes. In my very bold opinion, I agree with Alfred Kinsey, because human sexually should not be frowned upon in society. More so, sex should be educated, and fluent between adults, and most importantly teenagers. The reason I specify teenagers, is because younger adolescents love the idea of exploring. With this notion of exploring, a teen should have the necessary knowledge to develop their own unique morals on human sexuality, and most of all, be safe and smart if sexual intercourse does occur.

Look into a mirror, is this our reflection?
